Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. One of the best place to have indian food. Northern flavour and Southern flavour. Kadai paneer, malai soy chap has northern flavours vs biryani has amazing southern flavour. Suresh who served us is really a nice person and ask him for recommendations. Very nice staff. I recommend it for sure

Loved the food. We ordered Afghani Chicken, Kadhai Paneer, Dal Makhani, Butter roti and Mango lassi. Highly recommend the above items. Suresh ensured that our food was served hot. Very polite and humble guy. Highly recommend this indian restaurant.

We came to Charlotte from out of town and saw their sign while driving and knew we had to stop in. The atmosphere is incredibly inviting and the mural of downtown Charlotte on the wall is beautiful. We came in late and decided to get out order to go and even though we weren't dining in, we were still given outstanding hospitality. We were seated and given a carafe of water while we waited for our food and then were given some decadently creamy mango lassis completely on the house. We ordered the Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb Curry, all of which were delicious. The korma was delightfully aromatic while the Tikka Masala was creamy and full of umami flavor. The lamb curry was just as delicious as the rest. Their butter and cheese naan were soft and comforting. Stopping by to eat here will definitely be the right decision because you're greeted with warm smiles and a warm atmosphere. Whether new or seasoned to Indian cuisine, you won't regret it!

My experience at Nalan was mixed, especially considering the price point. I ordered the Karivepakku Chicken, Ambur Boneless Chicken Biryani, Garlic Naan, and Nalan Chicken Curry. The Karivepakku Chicken was almost $20, and while the portion size was generous and the taste was good, it really wasn’t Karivepakku chicken as described β€” it didn’t have the curry leaf flavor you’d expect, which you can also see in the picture. It felt more like a regular fried chicken starter. The starter chicken was also placed inside the Ambur Boneless Chicken Biryani, so the biryani ended up having the same spiced chicken. The biryani itself tasted good and the portion size was solid, but I would have preferred the actual biryani-style chicken instead of repurposed starter pieces. The Nalan Chicken Curry was the most disappointing. The flavor was okay, but for $18, the portion size and the plain white rice served with it didn’t feel worth the price. Lastly, the Garlic Naan wasn’t what I expected. I was hoping for soft, fluffy naan, but it was crispy and lacked the usual naan texture and flavor. Overall, the food tasted good, but for a total of around $65, I expected the dishes to match what was l

Given the hype, me and my family went to try and see what Nalan is about and how the food there is. We got the cauliflower appetizer which seemed to be pretty famous (very disappointing btw) it was bland and dry, no chutney provided with it. complete use of harmful ajinomoto spices. moving on to the dosa, man it was dry as hell and the amount of masala inside it? compared to the shell provided, that was blasphemy! my dad got the chicken biriyani (found it pretty basic), also the raita had us rolling cuz man it smelled HORRIBLE! the only decent dish we had was probably the paneer tikka and garlic naan. Yes aesthetic plating is important but at the end of the day, it’s food, the quality and taste matters more. OH AND CHERRY ON TOP! while we had our food, there was a bug THAT KEPT HOVERING AROUND the food (picture attached as it won’t let me upload a video), hopped from one table to another, the table next to us didn’t seem pleased either. we had a conversation about it. our server wasn’t warm or cheerful at all, felt pretty blunt im not even gonna lie. i’ve never had such a terrible experience at ANY indian cuisine spot.
